Being an artist in her 20s
As I am approaching the age of 30, I feel the need to express what these first 10 years of making and practicing art as a young adult meant to me. That journey came with many challenges and a great deal of research. After years of classical training, I wasn’t satisfied with being only a painter, yet I wasn’t interested in abandoning my path to focus entirely on another artistic discipline. Instead, I wanted to explore them all—to learn from each one and practice a little of everything.
All the confusion and multiple interests brought me to years of study, of exercising and eventually mastering multiple disciplines. I turned myself in whatever I wanted to be, and I guess I wanted to be everything. I wanted to learn and practice everything connected to art—photography, video, graphic design, illustration, and more. I wanted to have all of it at my fingertips, ready for use whenever I needed it.
There was surely a time when all this made me suffer, as every process of metamorphosis is painful and full of obstacles. I still, chaotically want this, but nowadays without compromising my time, health, and creativity. Behind me remains a work of intense research and infinite interests, which today I display with happiness…and with much hope that one day it will reach the right people.
